The #SportOnSocial League Table 2020 ranks 35 IOC-recognised International Federations (IFs) according to their social media performance in 2019 (data collected 1 January to 31 December 2019).
Which IFs topped the #SportOnSocial League Table 2019?
The #SportOnSocial League Table 2019 ranked 35 IOC-recognised IFs according to their social media performance in 2018.
FIFA climbed 9 places to top the #SportOnSocial League Table 2019. FIFA saw significant success across all platforms – ranking #1 on both Instagram and YouTube – and performance across all metrics on Instagram and YouTube spiked during their 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
FIBA came #2 in 2019, one place higher than in 2018. FIBA made significant improvements on YouTube and ranked #1 on Facebook. Its success can be attributed to international events including the FIBA 3×3 World Cup and the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
BWF and ITF were the joint highest climbers; jumping 14 places to #12 and #20 respectively.
The ISU ranked #2 on Twitter and remained the highest ranked winter IF. Its Figure Skating channel saw substantial growth and engagement during the 2018 World Figure Skating Championships in March and the 2018–19 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final in December.
