We’re proud to be a carbon neutral agency and are committed to supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions while staying open and transparent about our environmental impact.

Each year, we are audited by the independent specialist agency, Alectro. The Carbon Emission Report they provided us for 2024 indicates an increase in carbon emissions per person. From RY23 to RY24 our emissions rose from 1.23 tCO2eq to 1.67 tCO2eq, representing a 36% increase. On an annual basis, this equates to a 43% rise in emissions.

The primary reason for this was additional international travel due to our work with global clients. 2024 proved a big year for the team and involved a great many trips, for example, for our work at the Paris Olympics. While some trips might be essential, we’re constantly exploring ways to reduce our environmental impact.

We are taking several steps to do this, such as:

  • considering international train travel
  • assessing the effects of long-haul flights
  • combining meetings wherever possible to minimise travel

To help counterbalance our impact, we invest in projects that align with the UN

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This year, our team voted to allocate funds to Safe Water Project in Rwanda I, which provides safe drinking water to communities in greatest need.

We’re committed to achieving net zero emissions by 2030 (Alectro Carbon Emission Report 2024) and to reach this target we’re focusing on:

  • eliminating our Scope 1 emissions (direct) by switching away from fossil fuels for heating
  • counterbalancing our Scope 2 emissions (indirect from energy) by sourcing low-carbon electricity
  • reducing our Scope 3 emissions (other indirect) by 42% in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (Alectro Carbon Emission Report 2024). This involves supporting our team in the transition to low-carbon modes of transport and collaborating with suppliers who have strong net zero commitments similar to ours

Our aim is for at least 80% of our supply chain to adhere to the highest standards (Alectro Carbon Emission Report 2024. This includes (but is not limited to) publishing both carbon reports and a net zero plan.

We know there’s more to do, and we’ll keep being transparent about our progress at every stage of the process.
